Shipping Lithium Batteries by AIR
A recent string of high-profile incidents, involving the transportation of lithium ion batteries, has highlighted the need for adjusted transport regulations. Despite the growing demand for both lithium ion and lithium metal batteries, the transport of such items remains inherantly dangerous. As industry innovation marches ahead, adaptation of the rules is crucial in order to maintain an acceptable level of safety. The latest correction is reflected in the 57th Edition of the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations. These changes are emphasized in the summaries and packing instructions below -
